Apparently the Democratic establishment is only capable of sassing the progressive wing, and everyone else is open to "negotiation."

    • Myanmar seemed quiet because the government shut off the internet to silence the people but thanks to people who shared what was happening, it caught media attention outside the country, which was super important because we need international help. They're currently hosing peaceful protestors with water that's been contaminated with chemicals. Some military officers used rubber bullets, but there was recently one 19-year old girl who was shot in the head with a REAL bullet and she wasn't even protesting. She was just a bystander. Even though it was a short segment, thank you so much for reporting on Myanmar, especially when it's hard to get reliable info. I hope you continue doing so, as the fight to regain out democracy is only beginning.

  • A bit late to the party but what the hell. On the Britney Spears situation. I do not think this is some kind of misogynistic ploy by old creepy man. Rather, it used to be the price you had to pay for being famous. Nothing is free, and so you sort of used to pay your bills with your soul if you were in entertainment. Take a look at Jim Morrison. Perhaps watch a movie on his life. The crazy shit he did and the amount of various substances he ingested cannot be overstated. He was also sexualized by his community, producers, fans etc. at a very young age but he reveled in it. He was at the top of his game, he was the Lizard King. He loved being an object of women's sexual fantasies, loved to participate in 'em. How did he end up? In a bathtub in France, OD'd on drugs. Now in this day and age it is absolutely unacceptable for things to turn out this way, and what I believe we should take away from the Britney documentary is a cautionary tale of how we should never conduct entertainment business ever again.

  • I have nothing against Britney, but why did Timberlake apologize? If I remember correctly, she cheated on him , he found out, and then wrote a song about it. Nobody asks the female singers to apologize about the songs they wrote about their exes.

  • Why exactly are people just now aware of this Britney Spears thing? Pretty sure South Park dedicated an entire episode surrounding the witch hunt and how South Park does, they criticized it in a satirical way. THAT WAS OVER A DECADE AGO, before I was even close to finishing school and was just a small stupid child. Even back then I remember thinking that that was gruesome. I'm glad that the documentary brought even more light onto this whole situation.

Honestly it's what a lot of female country artist's biggest country hits are based on. But come on... look at the contingent of people online who basically call Ariana Grande a murderer because Mac Miller died not too long after she got with Pete Davidson. Not saying, she deserved it, but, our reality is, people will take advantage of you, especially, if your at a younger age claiming to fame. All I can say is, be smart, cautions and be careful out there, if you chose to be in the spot light.

  • I'd be careful with the whole idea that Britney is somehow perfectly able to manage herself and her life just fine. We don't really know the details of her conservatorship or how bad her mental illnesses are. It isn't often that a court will hand one out for little or no reason, and to essentially give a life time conservatorship to a young person is exceedingly rare. That points that it's very possible that she has more than just her childhood and career working against her. It's possible there's something very troubling and permanently unwell with her that wouldn't allow her to take care of herself.

  • There is a documentary on Netflix about the conservatorship. This really affects the lives of individuals under it. Once under this system, it seems hard to get out of it. What was eye-opening about this documentary is, first of all, how the dialogue was primitive about mental illness in the year 2000s. And second, how adults behaved toward her (meaning journalists, paparazzi and interviewers). The one that shocks me the most was when this woman mentioned that she would kill Britney if she saw her. As if Britney was responsible for the education of her children?!? Overall, I questioned the purpose of the father. Especially, when he claimed to love her daughter. How can he claim to love his daughter? If you do love her, you do not sue her with her OWN MONEY!?!? That is just ludicrous. She is a grown woman. And at one point, you need to let her be and do her own mistakes.

  • The problem with black history month is that we lose focus on everyone else who's been mistreated in this country. We straight up told Jews to fuck off and die during WW2 if they weren't already a citizen. They've also been horribly mistreated while living in the U.S both prior to WW2 and in 2021. We're incredibly fucked up against Mexicans, legal and not, as well as Native Americans yet none of those groups get the same treatment. In fact, the only thing schools even glanced upon is the Native American mistreatment but it's no where near as in depth as it should be. That's the problem with Black History Month. It completely ignores other groups who have had horrible mistreatment in this country.
